Mike S., a homeowner in Carson City, Nevada, had an unexpected emergency one Friday evening. He stepped outside and saw water flooding his carport. “I knew something happened to our exterior water line,” Mike said.
Acting fast, Mike shut off the main water supply to stop the flooding, then grabbed his HomeServe paperwork. Since he had multiple repair plans to cover different systems in his home, including his exterior water line, he called right away to get some help.
The job was ultimately assigned to Mountain Ridge Plumbing and HVAC by HomeServe. They’re a local and reliable network contractor that had availability to handle the situation quickly. In fact, they came out that same night they were assigned to the job to check things over.
“Even though it was late on a Friday, the technician that came out assured me he would do everything possible to get my water on as soon as they could.” Mike said. “And he kept his promise.”
Throughout the process, Mike was closely kept in the loop. He received a call from the technician the next day, Saturday, where he learned they would arrive Sunday morning to do the repair. Although not all technicians are available or able to come out on a weekend, Mountain Ridge was able to do so for Mike.
“For someone to come on a Sunday morning like that, they really have to care,” Mike said.
“Mountain Ridge was fantastic. They explained everything they were doing and answered all my questions the whole way through.”
The fix wasn’t simple, though. It meant cutting into the cement and digging down about three feet to find the problem, which turned out to be a hole in a valve in the water line. The technician showed Mike the issue, gathered the materials and got to work. Once the repair was done, the trenches were backfilled, and the water supply was turned back on.
Thanks to his HomeServe plans, Mike saved over $2,600 on the repair. He’s been a HomeServe customer since 2014 after hearing about available repair plans at the time through a local advertisement.
“It’s safe to say these savings show why I have been a customer for so long, and why I’ll remain one,” Mike said.
