Ronald W. of Chesterfield, Virginia, first noticed the puddle in the middle of his driveway on a dry day. It hadn't rained recently, so his initial thought was that one of his cars was leaking fluid. But as days passed, the puddle remained and even grew slightly. It was a mystery that pointed to a more serious problem: a potential water leak.
To confirm his suspicions, Ronald contacted his water utility. They reviewed his usage levels and confirmed that a new leak was likely the cause. He remembered a letter he received back in 2019 from HomeServe, who partnered with his utility provider Dominion Energy, so he knew exactly who to call. He was enrolled in four of the optional repair plans from HomeServe and was confident he had the right protection in place.
Ronald called HomeServe, and an agent dispatched King Construction, a local and reliable contractor from HomeServe’s network, to investigate. A couple of days later, the team arrived and pinpointed the source of the leak. The issue was a damaged copper water line running beneath his property. The pipe was generally deteriorated, and since the material wasn’t repairable, the entire line needed to be replaced with new PVC pipe.
Ronald was particularly impressed by the courtesy and efficiency of the crew. "The contractor, King Construction, was extremely customer focused," said Ronald. "They were very courteous towards us, and aimed to cause as little disruption to my property as possible."
“I was really pleased with the experience," said Ronald. "I would recommend (the repair plans) to anyone.”

The contractors completed the full water line replacement, a job that saved Ronald $4,200.
The entire process, from the initial call to the final repair, solidified Ronald's confidence in his plans from HomeServe.
