
When Kathy T. from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, noticed a small water leak near her basement ceiling tile, she didn’t think much of it.
“We have older pipes and hard water, so pinhole leaks happen,” she said.
Luckily, Kathy and her husband had signed up for HomeServe’s Interior Plumbing and Drainage plan so long ago she doesn’t remember when. She called HomeServe, and a technician from DR Sevacko Plumbing came out to take care of it.
What started as a small repair turned into a much bigger issue. While turning off the water, the technician heard a hissing sound outside.
After checking it out, they found a major leak in Kathy’s water line. About 18 feet of the 40-foot exterior line needed to be replaced. Kathy called HomeServe to see if she was covered, and to her relief, the repair was fully covered under her Exterior Water Service Line plan, one of her 12 HomeServe plans that she has through their partnership with Duquesne Light.
The Sevacko repair team went out of their way to make sure the job didn’t disrupt Kathy’s property. “We didn’t want to destroy our new sidewalk,” she said. “They went underneath it and through the wall of the house to make the repair.” The whole job, including landscape restoration, was done in just one day and saved Kathy and her husband about $4,000.
Kathy couldn’t be happier with the service.

“They put everything back exactly how it was,” she said. “I’ve always been happy with any plan I’ve had, and I have a lot!”
