A $4,200 Problem Solved with No Expense to Tucson Homeowner

While Glenn and his wife were traveling overseas, their son stayed at their Tucson home. The prior year, they had a water line leak repaired through their plan from HomeServe, so Glenn asked his son to check the water meter to make sure everything was still in good shape. What his son found was alarming. The water bill was nearly four times higher than normal. Even after turning off the water, the meter kept running, which meant there was likely a leak underground.

Glenn didn’t hesitate. As a HomeServe customer since 2023, he knew exactly who to call.

After Glenn called HomeServe, Presidio Plumbing, a trusted local and reliable member of HomeServe’s contractor network, was dispatched and quickly located multiple leaks and diagnosed the issue. The entire water line was made of outdated material and needed to be replaced. The replacement required digging an 8-by-10-foot hole in the driveway to access and replace the line, along with restoring the area afterward. It was a major job that could have cost thousands. In fact, it did cost thousands - the total came to more than $4,200, but Glenn didn’t pay a dime.

This wasn’t Glenn’s first experience with a water line problem. Before joining HomeServe, he had coverage through another company.

“They did the bare minimum and left me with a huge bill,” he recalled. “But not with HomeServe. It’s like night and day.”

Ironically, it was the contractor from that earlier job who first recommended HomeServe. He told Glenn that HomeServe was easier to work with and, in his experience, always do what’s right for the customer. That advice stuck, and Glenn signed up for a repair plan.

“The biggest thing for me is, I haven’t once seen a bill,” he said. “What more can you ask for?”

“I have to tell you, I have no complaints at all. HomeServe has been wonderful for me especially coming from a competitor. The way that everything is handled, amount of coverage provided, is just so much better.”

Since becoming a customer, Glenn says he has never paid anything beyond the cost of the plan, even with multiple repairs. This is because customers with a plan pay no out of pocket costs for covered repairs, up to the benefit amount.

“This is one of those things you sign up for and never expect to have to use it,” Glenn said. “But then when you do, it’s shocking that there is truly no cost [for services included in the plan] as promised.”
