Portland Water District Program Saves Homeowners Over $3 Million Dollars in Home Repairs

Almost 9,000 Area Residents Participate in the Repair Plan Program

Portland, Maine – November 9, 2021 – Portland residents know that many common home repairs come with a significant financial burden and inconvenience. That's why since 2006, the Portland Water District has offered a program that gives its homeowner customers an affordable way to protect themselves against the high cost and hassle of common home repairs.

8,991 greater Portland area homeowners are participating in the program, offered through HomeServe, and have now saved over $3 million in emergency home repair costs. These are repairs homeowners otherwise would have had to pay for out-of-pocket without one of the available service plans under the program.

Through the partnership with HomeServe, homeowners who are Portland Water District customers have access to optional no-deductible repair service plans that start at $3.99 a month for the first year and cover water and sewer service line repairs or in-home plumbing emergencies. When a covered repair arises, homeowners with a repair plan have access to local, qualified contractors who can complete the repair quickly.
