How to clean smelly drains
Don’t let a stinky drain ruin your garden party plans. Here are my four top tricks to help you quickly get rid of any smells for good…
1. Clean as a whistle. Make sure to clear away any food, hair, soap scum or any other waste from the drain.
2. Water works wonders. Swill your pongy drain with boiling water – watch your fingers! Wait 5 minutes, then follow it with cold water. This helps dislodge any built-up grease.
3. Soda’s not just for baking. Simply sprinkle a teaspoon of baking soda down your troubled drain and follow it up with boiling water – take care as you pour.
4. Bring out the big guns. If all else fails, try a specially formulated drain cleaner. Corrosive drain cleaners are just the ticket when it comes to unclogging drains.
