Frequently asked questions

What is HomeServe?
HomeServe is a leading provider of home repair solutions, serving nearly 5 million customers with more than 8.7 million protection plans in North America. Our goal is to provide homeowners with the tools to help protect against the expense, worry and inconvenience of plumbing, water, sewer, electrical, heating, and cooling emergencies.
How protection plans from HomeServe work.
Call HomeServe's 24/7 emergency repair hotline to schedule a repair appointment. A local repair expert will be sent to your home to fix your covered repair.
How do I request service?
Your emergency is our emergency. Once your coverage begins, just call our 24/7 hotline to schedule your covered repair, and we will send an experienced, licensed professional to make the repair. In select areas, you can schedule service for covered repairs online.
What if I change my mind and want to cancel?
Did you know most basic home insurance policies do not cover repair or replacement of home systems due to normal wear and tear? That is why having a plan is important. However, should you decide to cancel, you may do so at any time by calling 855-336-2465 or by visiting your online account.
Do I need a home protection plan if I have Homeowners' insurance?
Homeowners' insurance typically protects your home from things that might happen, like fires, theft, or natural disasters. A protection plan from HomeServe helps protect your budget from major repairs (water/sewer lines, heating and cooling, plumbing, and electric) due to wear and tear.
What type of Protection Plans does HomeServe offer?
HomeServe offers home protection plans providing coverage for plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems – each at a low monthly cost.
Does my homeowners insurance cover this?
Many homeowners believe their utility companies or homeowners insurance is responsible for emergency repairs to the water, sewer, plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling systems, but the reality is that in many cases you, the homeowner, are responsible. Most basic homeowners insurance policies and local utility companies or municipalities do not cover repairs to or replacement of the major systems in and around your home.
Who is HomeServe?
HomeServe is the leading provider of home repair solutions nationwide with nearly 20 years’ experience making home ownership easier by keeping home systems running smoothly. We do this through a nationwide network of licensed contractors and a U.S.-based call center available 24/7/365. As an accredited business with the Better Business Bureau and a 4.8 out of 5-star post-job satisfaction scores, HomeServe is the best tool a homeowner can have to protect themselves from costly home repairs. Our repair plans protect you from the expense of an emergency home repair caused by normal wear and tear that is not typically covered by your homeowners insurance, local utility or municipality.
