Eligibility: An owner of both a residential home permanently secured to the ground and the land it is located on may be eligible for coverage. Recreational vehicles or homes on wheels and properties used for commercial purposes are not eligible for coverage. Your property is not eligible if you are aware of any pre-existing conditions, defects or deficiencies with your lines or system, or had any roots removed from your sewer/septic line prior to enrollment. Systems that are shared with any third party, covered by a homeowners, condominium or like association, or that are not installed according to manufacturer specifications are not eligible. If you own a residence that has multiple units, you must purchase a service agreement for each individual unit for any one unit to be eligible for service.
Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the per line/system benefit amount, for the covered cost to repair or replace the following, for which you have sole responsibility, that are damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence. Exterior Water Service Line- A leaking, low pressure, or permanently blocked exterior water service line from your property boundary or external wall of your well casing to the external wall of your home. Exterior Sewer/Septic Line- A leaking or permanently blocked sewer line that takes wastewater away from the external wall of your home up to your property boundary, or septic line that takes wastewater away from the external wall of your home up to the point of connection to the septic tank on your property. Interior Plumbing System- A leaking, partially or permanently blocked interior plumbing system, which includes all of the water service pipes within your home.
Not covered: Repair to any water line that branches off the main line, thawing of frozen pipes; septic tanks, leaching fields, pumps or grinders, any non-conforming drain line, such as a basement or storm drain; appliances; repair or replacement of fittings or fixtures, for example, water tanks, water heaters, radiators, bathroom fittings, faucets, toilets, baths, shower pans, shower/bath diverters and sinks, pressure reducing valves and backflow prevention devices; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. Additional exclusions apply.
Making a Service Call: Your plan starts the day your order is processed, and there is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a service call, giving you 11 months of coverage during the first year. Upon renewal/reactivation (if applicable), you will not be subject to a waiting period.
Cancellation: You may cancel within 30 days of your start date for a full refund (or less any claims paid if cancelled at any time after renewal/reactivation, where applicable). Cancellations after the first 30 days will be effective at the end of the then-current billing month, and you will be entitled to a pro-rata refund less any claims paid (where applicable). You may also contact Home Emergency Insurance Solutions to cancel if you find your utility or municipality provides similar coverage to you at no charge, and you will receive a refund less any claims paid (where applicable).
Renewal: Your coverage is based on an annual contract. Regardless of the payment frequency you select, your policy will be automatically renewed annually on the same payment terms selected, at the then-current renewal price. Your coverage will remain in effect unless you contact Home Emergency Insurance Solutions to discontinue.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cancellation policy?
You may cancel within 30 days of your start date for a full refund; cancellations after the first 30 days will result in a pro rata refund less any claims paid (where applicable). Most basic homeowners insurance policies do not cover repair or replacement due to normal wear and tear of these components. If you find you have similar protection, you can cancel and receive a refund of your service agreement fee, less any claims paid (where applicable).
What quality of repair can I expect?
Local, licensed and insured technicians perform all covered repairs, which are guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for one year.
Does my homeowners insurance cover this?
Many homeowners believe their utility companies or homeowners insurance is responsible for emergency repairs to the water, sewer, plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling systems, but the reality is that in many cases you, the homeowner, are responsible. Most basic homeowners insurance policies and local utility companies or municipalities do not cover repairs to or replacement of the major systems in and around your home.
