  • If your multi-family home has more than 3 housing units, your property is used for commercial purposes; you know of any current problems with your system before enrollment; your system is shared with a 3rd party or covered by a homeowners’ association or the like; uses refrigerant other than R-22 or similar, R-410a; has non-compliant components; exceeds 5 tons capacity; is an ammonia cooling, window, through the wall, hanging, geothermal heat pump, or combination ambient heat/domestic hot water heating unit; or is not installed according to manufacturer specifications

  • Refrigerant conversions, air filters, compressors, condensor or evaporator coils, electric disconnects, remote control devices, cleaning evaporator coils, metering systems that include TXV or 4-way valves, more than 1 condenser or 3 air handlers, refrigerant or refrigerant leaks, reversing valves and king valves; damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. Eligibility: An owner of a residential single structure, or a unit within a structure, that is not intended to be moved may be eligible for coverage. If you do not buy a plan for every system you own, you must designate at enrollment the system your plan covers, or the plan will cover the first system for which you make a service call. If you own a multi-family home or multiple housing units, you must provide the specific mailing address for each service agreement you purchase. A System that is one of the following: Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Daikin, Friedrich, Carrier, Trane or Sanyo. You are not eligible if your multi-family home has more than 3 housing units, your property is used for commercial purposes; you know of any current problems with your system before enrollment; your system is shared with a 3rd party or covered by a homeowners' association or the like; uses refrigerant other than R-22 or similar, R-410a; has non-compliant components; exceeds 5 tons capacity; is an ammonia cooling, window, through the wall, hanging, geothermal heat pump, or combination ambient heat/domestic hot water heating unit; or is not installed according to manufacturer specifications.
Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the applicable benefit limit, to repair or replace the following broken or failed parts for your ductless heating/air conditioning system which you have sole responsibility, that is damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence: blower motors, blower wheels, circuit boards, the clearing of accessible condensate lines, condensate pumps, condenser fan blades, condenser fan motors, defrost control boards, defrost sensors, electronic expansion valve power head, fuses, removable valve cores, service port valve caps, transformers, or thermistor.
Not covered: Refrigerant conversions, air filters, compressors, condensor or evaporator coils, electric disconnects, remote control devices, cleaning evaporator coils, metering systems that include TXV or 4-way valves, more than 1 condenser or 3 air handlers, refrigerant or refrigerant leaks, reversing valves and king valves; damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. Additional exclusions apply. Disputes resolved by arbitration, without class action or jury trial, unless otherwise stated in your full Terms and Conditions.
Making a Service Call: Your plan starts the day your enrollment is processed. There is an initial 10-day waiting period before you can make a service call, giving you less than 12 full months of coverage during the first year. Upon renewal/reactivation (if applicable), there is no waiting period. You are entitled to one annual ductless heating/air conditioning system tune-up, which must be scheduled by you. If your covered repair included a tune-up, you will not receive another annual tune-up to your repaired system until renewal.
Cancellation: Cancel any time by calling HomeServe. If you cancel within 30 days of your start date, you will get a full refund (less claims paid or tune-ups provided, where applicable). Cancellations after the first 30 days will result in a pro-rata refund (less claims paid or tune-ups provided, where applicable).
Renewal: The plan is annual. Unless you cancel, your plan automatically renews annually at the then-current renewal price with your same payment terms.
