Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the applicable benefit limit, to repair or replace the following broken or failed standard electric air conditioning system parts for which you have sole responsibility, that are damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence: thermostats, blower motors, circuit boards, condensate pumps, condenser fan motors and blades, cleaning of exterior condenser coils, contactor relays, direct drive blower wheels, filter dryers, external crank case heaters, fuses, original hard start kits, high and low pressure switches, motor contactors, run and start capacitors, safety limits, sight glasses, service port valve caps, thermal expansion valves, time delay controls, transformers, and Schrader type valve cores.
Not covered: Cleaning of furnaces, steam boilers, boiler water tubes, tankless water heater heaters; the replacement of furnaces, boilers, boiler sections, humidifiers, air cleaners, water heaters; bearings compressors, condensers, condenser coils, evaporators/a-coils, electrical wiring; the repair of non-visible refrigerant leaks; more than 3 heating zones; refrigerant conversions; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. Additional exclusions apply. You agree to resolve disputes related to this plan by arbitration or in small claims court, without resort to class action or jury trial.
Making a Service Call: Your plan starts the day your enrollment is processed. There is an initial 10-day waiting period before you can make a service call, giving you less than 12 full months of coverage during the first year. Upon renewal/reactivation (if applicable), there is no waiting period. You are entitled to one annual A/C tune-up, which must be scheduled by you. Air-conditioning tune-ups are available between March 1 and May 31. Tune-ups requested outside this time frame are subject to an additional fee. If your covered repair included a tune-up, you will not receive another annual tune-up to your repaired system until renewal.
Cancellation: Cancel any time by calling HomeServe. If you cancel within 30 days of your start date, you will get a full refund (less claims paid or tune-ups provided, where applicable). Cancellations after the first 30 days will result in a pro-rata refund (less claims paid or tune-ups provided, where applicable).
Renewal: Your coverage is based on an annual contract. For credit card or debit card customers: regardless of the payment frequency you select, your service agreement will be automatically renewed annually on the same payment terms you selected, at the then-current renewal price.
