  • Damage or failure due to disconnection or interruption to the main electrical supply; transformers; repair of low voltage wiring; generators; non-utility supplied power and/or lines; appliances; pool heaters; light fixtures and fittings; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. The meter that measures the amount of electricity used is not covered under this plan, but it may be covered by your electric utility. Additional exclusions apply.

Eligibility: An owner of both a residential single structure that is not intended to be moved and the land it is located on may be eligible for coverage. You are not eligible if your property is used for commercial purposes; you know of any current problems with your exterior electrical system before enrollment; your exterior electrical system is shared with a 3rd party or covered by a homeowner's association or the like; or your electrical services entrance is rated less than 80 amps. In IA, properties with more than 4 dwelling units are not eligible
Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the applicable benefit limit, to repair or replace the broken, failed or hazardous permanent high voltage overhead or underground wiring and the weatherhead, insulator, riser, meter base, and service entrance conductor located between your utility's responsibility and the exterior wall of your home, for which you have sole responsibility, that is damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence.
Not covered: Damage or failure due to disconnection or interruption to the main electrical supply; transformers; repair of low voltage wiring; generators; non-utility supplied power and/or lines; appliances; pool heaters; light fixtures and fittings; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. The meter that measures the amount of electricity used is not covered under this plan, but it may be covered by your electric utility. Additional exclusions apply. You agree to resolve disputes related to this plan by arbitration or in small claims court, without resort to class action or jury trial.
Making a Service Call: Your plan starts the day your enrollment is processed, and there is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a service call, providing 11 months of coverage during the first year. Upon renewal/reactivation (if applicable), there is no waiting period.
Cancellation: Cancel any time by calling HomeServe. If you cancel within 30 days of your start date, you will get a full refund (less claims paid, where applicable). Cancellations after the first 30 days will be effective at the end of the then-current billing month, and you will get a pro-rata refund (less claims paid, where applicable.)
Renewal: Your coverage is based on an annual contract. For credit card or debit card customers: regardless of the payment frequency you select, your service agreement will be automatically renewed annually on the same payment terms you selected, at the then-current renewal price.
