Important coverage information
Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the applicable benefit limit, to repair or replace the broken, failed or hazardous permanent overhead or underground wiring, and the weatherhead, insulator, riser, meter base, and service entrance conductor located between your utility's responsibility and the exterior wall of your home, for which you have sole responsibility, that is damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence. Frayed wiring that is still functional is also covered.
Not covered: Damage or failure due to disconnection or interruption to the main electrical supply, transformers, repair of wiring connected to or any part of the following: doorbells, smoke detectors, garage door systems, and thermostats and similar type systems, generators, non-utility supplied power and/or lines, appliances, meter pedestals, pool heaters, fixtures or fittings, lines to detached garages, secondary buildings, or any structure other than your home, and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others, wildlife or unusual circumstances, including pandemics, hostilities and work slowdowns, acts of God, including natural disasters and extreme weather; excluded damages, including any damages necessary to reasonable access the repair area; loss from unauthorized access or use of any system or any destruction or deletion of data or software; correction of, or reimbursement for, any repairs or restorations made by you or anyone you hire; replacement, correction, upgrade or move, including your meter, in order to meet any code, law, regulation, ordinance or utility directive; repair or replacement for any system covered by a manufacturer's warranty, service contract or insurance policy or involved in a manufacturer's recall or class action; any section that is shared with a third party or is covered by a homeowners', condominium, or like association; remediating or notifying you about mold or other hazardous materials; any sections or parts not installed to code, law, regulation, ordinance or manufacturer's specfications or that are damaged due to external factors; shared sections, including your meter, that provide service to multiple properties or secondary buildings; and repair or replacement of any sections or parts that are not stated to be covered in the Terms and Conditions. The meter that measures the amount of electricity used is not covered by this plan, but it may be covered by your local utility. Costs on covered repairs may exceed the benefit limit, in which case you pay the difference between the cost and the benefit limit. Disputes resolved by arbitration, without class action or jury trial, unless otherwise stated in your full Terms and Conditions.
