Exclusions

  • Damage from disconnection or interruption to the main electrical supply; transformers; repair of wiring connected to or any part of the following: doorbells, smoke detectors, garage doors, and thermostats and similar type systems; generators; non-utility supplied power and/or lines; appliances; meter pedestals; pool heaters; remediating or notifying you of mold or hazardous materials; any sections/parts not installed properly; repairs or replacement protected under other coverage; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others, wildlife or unusual circumstances (such as natural disasters). The meter that measures the amount of electricity used is not covered by this plan, but it may be covered by your utility. You will not be reimbursed for repairs performed by anyone not authorized by HomeServe. Additional exclusions apply.

Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the applicable benefit limit, to repair or replace the following for which you have sole responsibility, that has experienced an operational failure or is hazardous and is damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence: the broken or frayed (in the case of wiring) permanent electrical wiring, including the ground wire and service entrance conductor located between your utility’s responsibility and the exterior wall of your home; meter base (if provided by your utility, we will install it); exterior breaker panel/fuse box, weatherhead, insulator, conduit and riser; and wiring to detached garages, secondary buildings/pools, and outdoor outlets/lighting/fixtures/fittings connected to your system. Repair of broken or hazardous outdoor outlets and lighting fittings/fixtures on your property that are connected to your system are also covered. Technicians must have safe access to the work area.

Making a Service Call: You can make a service call immediately after your plan starts, which is 30 days after your enrollment is processed. Upon renewal/restart (if applicable), you can make a service call immediately.
Cancellation: Cancel your plan any time by calling HomeServe or visiting www.homeserve.com/cancel. If you cancel within 30 days before your plan start date, you will not be charged. If you cancel within 30 days after the plan start date, you will get a full refund (less benefits paid). If you cancel 31 or more days after the plan start date, you will get a pro-rata refund (less benefits paid). Upon renewal/restart, you can cancel any time and you will get a pro-rata refund (less benefits paid).
Renewal: The plan is annual. Unless you cancel, your plan automatically renews annually at the then-current renewal price with your same payment terms.
