Important coverage information
Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the benefit amount, for the covered cost to repair a single blocked sewer line, for which you have sole responsibility, that takes wastewater away from the external wall of your home up to your utility's responsibility, or septic line that takes wastewater away from the external wall of your home up to the point of connection to the septic tank on your property, that is damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence. If your exterior sewer/septic line has more than two unrelated problems, an entire replacement of your exterior sewer/septic line will be necessary, which is not covered.
Not covered: Septic tanks, leach beds, sand mounds, check valves, backflow prevention devices, pumps, or any other type of electrical or mechanical device, rain runoff pipes, gray water removal pipes, or any non-conforming drain line (such as a basement or storm drain); shared line that provides service to multiple properties or secondary buildings; repairs to multiple line systems, any line that branches off your main line, or any secondary lines exiting your home; repair to your line if your cleanout(s) is/are inaccessible, missing, broken, or not installed up to code; snaking from roofs or toilets; repair due to failed dye and/or smoke tests or third party inspections of any kind; replacement of your entire sewer/septic line; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. Additional exclusions apply.
Making a Service Call: Your plan starts the day your order is processed, and there is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a service call, giving you 11 months of coverage during the first year. Upon renewal/reactivation (if applicable), you will not be subject to a waiting period.
Cancellation: Cancel any time by calling HomeServe. If you cancel within 30 days of your start date, you will get a full refund (less claims paid, where applicable). Cancellations after the first 30 days will be effective at the end of the then-current billing month, and you will get a pro-rata refund (less claims paid), where applicable.
Renewal: Your coverage is based on an annual contract. Regardless of the payment frequency you select, your policy will be automatically renewed annually on the same payment terms selected, at the then-current renewal price. Your coverage will remain in effect unless you contact HomeServe to discontinue. HomeServe is an independent company, separate from your utilities company, providing home repair services and protection solutions to homeowners across the U.S.
