Eligibility: An owner of a residential single structure, or a unit within a structure, that is not intended to be moved may be eligible for coverage. If you do not buy a plan for every water heater you own, you must designate at enrollment the water heater your plan covers, or the plan will cover the first water heater for which you make a service call. If you own a multi-family home or multiple housing units, you must provide the specific mailing address for each service agreement you purchase. You are not eligible if your property is used for commercial purposes; you know of any current problems with your water heater before enrollment; your entire water heater is shared with a 3rd party or covered by a homeowners’ association or the like; or your water heater is commercial grade, larger than 100 gallons, tankless, solar, geothermal, oil, rooftop, hanging tank-based, or combination home heating/domestic hot water unit; or is not installed according to manufacturer specifications. In IA, properties with more than 4 dwelling units are not eligible.
