Our goal is to provide homeowners with the tools to help them protect against the expense, worry and inconvenience of water heater, heating and cooling emergencies. Important coverage information
Not covered: Remediating or notifying you of mold or hazardous materials; any sections/parts not installed properly; repairs or replacement protected under other coverage; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others, wildlife or unusual circumstances (such as natural disasters). You will not be reimbursed for repairs performed by anyone not authorized by HomeServe. See system-specific information below for any additional eligibility requirements, coverage and exclusion details. Disputes resolved by arbitration, without class action or jury trial, unless otherwise stated in your full Terms and Conditions. Interior Gas Fuel Line: Buried piping, bonding. Additional exclusions apply. Heat Pump/Cooling System: Indoor coils, outdoor coils, compressors, TXV’s, filters/dryers, service valves; non-standard thermostats and thermostat wiring. Additional exclusions apply. Heating System: Air ducts, registers, air filters, zoning components and electronics, electronic air cleaners, flue venting, humidifiers, non-standard thermostats, thermostat wiring, air balancing, chimney maintenance or repairs, heating jacket, asbestos or other insulation; heat exchangers, leaking boilers, boiler distribution piping, and radiators; drain down and refill of the system if one of the following components fails: auto-fill valves, circulators, manual valves, or relief valves. If a drain down and refill of the system is needed a charge of $90 will apply. Additional exclusions apply. Standard Water Heater: Drain down and refill of standard water heater and expansion tanks. If a drain down and refill is needed a charge of $90 will apply; damage due to restricted lines or water pressure over 80 P.S.I. Additional exclusions apply. Tune-Up: Any inspections, seasonal turn-on/offs, or maintenance work not stated to be included in a tune-up. Additional exclusions apply.
Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the applicable benefit limit, to repair 1 of each of the following system(s) that has experienced an operational failure, for which you have sole responsibility, that is damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence. Coverage provides for repair or replacement of parts only. Your system(s) will not be replaced. Technicians must have safe access to the work area. Interior Gas Fuel Line: Repair of the interior gas fuel line. Heat Pump/Cooling System:Repair of the central forced-air heat pump/cooling system fueled by electricity where the cooling system is less than 5-ton capacity and the heat pump is rated at inputs of 200,000 Btu/hr. or less. Heating System: Repair of the central forced-air furnace or circulating hot water heating system fueled by natural gas or propane rated at inputs of 200,000 Btu/hr. or less. Standard Water Heater: Repair of the tank-based standard water heater fueled by natural gas, propane or electricity rated at inputs of 200,000 Btu/hr. or less. Tune-Up: You are entitled to one annual tune-up of your heat pump/cooling system and heating system. Tune-ups are performed between March 1 and September 30. Tune-ups requested outside this time frame are subject to an additional fee after the first term. Repair Access: A 15% discount on any non-covered work performed on your system(s).
Making a Service Call: You can make a service call immediately after your plan starts, which is 10 days after your enrollment is processed. Upon renewal/restart (if applicable), you can make a service call immediately.
Cancellation: Cancel your plan any time by calling HomeServe or visiting www.homeserve.com/cancel. If you cancel within 30 days before your plan start date, you will not be charged. If you cancel within 30 days after the plan start date, you will get a full refund (less benefits paid). If you cancel 31 or more days after the plan start date, you will get a pro-rata refund (less benefits paid). Upon renewal/restart, you can cancel any time and you will get a pro-rata refund (less benefits paid).
Renewal: The plan is annual. Unless you cancel, your plan automatically renews annually at the then-current renewal price with your same payment terms.
