Important coverage information
Eligible
- To be eligible, you must own both the residential single structure, or a unit within a structure and the land it’s located on
- Renters of such structures may also be eligible
Not Eligible
- If your home is a recreational vehicle or otherwise intended to be moved, or used for commercial purposes
- You know of any current problems with your electrical products before enrollment
- Your electrical products are entirely shared with a 3rd party or covered by a homeowners’ association or are not installed according to manufacturer specifications
- In IA, properties with more than 4 dwelling units are not eligible
Exclusions
- Unusual circumstances, including pandemics, hostilities and work slowdowns, acts of God, including natural disasters and extreme weather; loss from unauthorized access or use of any system or any destruction or deletion of data or software; excluded damages, including any damages necessary to reasonably access the repair area; correction of, or reimbursement for, any repairs made by you or anyone you hire not authorized by us; remediating or notifying you about mold or other hazardous materials; correction, upgrade or move in order to meet any code, law, regulation, ordinance or utility directive; any electrical products not installed to code, law, regulation, ordinance or manufacturer’s specifications or that are damaged due to external factors; any electrical product that is shared with a third party or is covered by a homeowners’, condominium, or like association; heating and air conditioning systems, internal electrical systems, electrical plumbing equipment including sump pumps, medical or life support equipment, and electrical vehicles of any kind; electrical products that are battery-powered and cannot be plugged in or have a replacement value of less than $100; additional expenses incurred in repairing, replacing, or removing electrical products that are affixed within your home; or any cost associated with making space suitable for installation when a replacement electrical product does not fit in the existing space within your home; loss or corruption of data and restoration of software and operating systems; electrical products that cannot be replaced with like kind and quality; and repair or replacement of any electrical products that are not stated to be covered in the Terms and Conditions.
Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the benefit amount, to repair or replace electrical products that fail due to an electrical surge, for which you have sole responsibility.

Disputes resolved by arbitration, without class action or jury trial, unless otherwise stated in your full Terms and Conditions. Costs on covered repairs may exceed the benefit limit, in which case you pay the difference between the cost and the benefit limit.
Making a Service Call: Your plan starts 30 days after your enrollment is processed. You can make a service call immediately after your plan starts. During the initial 30-day review period you will receive the Terms and Conditions to help you decide if coverage is right for you. Upon renewal/reactivation (if applicable), there is no review period and you can make a service call immediately. You must call HomeServe within 30 days of an electrical surge event to start a claim.
Cancellation: Cancel any time by calling HomeServe at 1-833-410-7608 or visiting www.homeserve.com. You will not be charged during the review period (if applicable). If you cancel within 30 days of your start date, you will get a full refund (less claims paid, where applicable). Cancellations after the first 30 days will result in a pro-rata refund (less claims paid, where applicable).
Renewal: The plan is annual. Unless you cancel, your plan automatically renews annually at the then-current renewal and is billed monthly through your utility bill.
