As a homeowner, you may be financially responsible for repairs to your oil heating system.
With the Heat Pump Plan from HomeServe, you can help protect yourself from the cost and hassle of emergency heat pump repairs. The plan covers the costs to repair or replace broken or failed backup heating coils, blower bearings, blower belts and other parts of your heat pump that is damaged due to normal wear and tear. If your heat pump can't be repaired, the balance of your annual benefit can be applied to a like-for-like replacement.
Important coverage information
Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the benefit amount, for covered repair or replacement of one of each of the following parts of an electric central heat pump: broken or failed backup heating coils, blower bearings, blower belts, blower motors, blower pulleys, blower wheels, capacitors, circuit boards, condenser fan blades, condenser fan motors, condensate pumps, contactors, external crankcase heaters, defrost controls, electric circuits, electrical low voltages, elements, internal condenser wiring, outdoor unit relays, rain shields, refrigerant, locating refrigerant leaks, relays, solenoids, standard thermostats, standard thermostat sub-bases, external thermal fuses, timers, and transformers. Plan also includes a 10% discount on labor for repairs. Coverage provides for repair or replacement of parts only; your system will not be replaced. This plan does not include a tune-up.
Not covered: Window units, indoor/outdoor coils, compressors, TXVs and service valves; and thermostat wiring; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. Additional exclusions apply. Disputes resolved by arbitration, without class action or jury trial, unless otherwise stated in your full Terms and Conditions.
Making a Service Call: Your plan starts the day your enrollment is processed. There is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a service call, providing 11 months of coverage the first year. Upon renewal/reactivation (if applicable), there is no waiting period.
Cancellation: Cancel any time by calling HomeServe. If you cancel within 30 days of your start date, you will get a full refund (less claims paid where applicable). Cancellations after the first 30 days will be effective at the end of the then-current billing month, and you will get a pro-rata refund (less claims paid where applicable).
Renewal: The plan is annual. Unless you cancel, your plan automatically renews annually at the then-current renewal price with your same payment terms.
