The Standard Water Heater Coverage provides covers the costs to repair a tank-based electric, natural gas or propane water heater that is damaged from normal wear and tear. With a repair plan from HomeServe, you can help protect yourself from the cost and hassle of emergency water heater repairs.
Important coverage information
Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the benefit amount, for covered repair or replacement of one of each of the following parts of a standard electric, natural gas, or propane tank-based water heater, for which you have sole responsibility, that is failing to perform its fundamental operations due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence: broken or failed aquastats, burners, burner tubing, dip tube, draft hoods, draft inducers (labor only), electronic ignitions, energy cutoffs, factory wiring, gas cocks, heating elements, manifolds, main valves, modules, pilot burners, orifices, tubing and valves, pressure regulators, pressure switches, pressure/temperature sensors, relief valves, sensors, spill switches, temperature dials, temperature limiting controls, thermocouples, thermostats, or vent connectors, drain valve and main water shut off valve. Plan also includes a 10% discount on labor for repairs. Coverage provides for repair or replacement of parts only; your system will not be replaced. This plan does not include a tune-up. If a draindown and refill is needed a charge of $90 will apply.
Not covered: Drain down and refill of standard water heater and expansion tanks; damage due to restricted lines or water pressure over 80 P.S.I.; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. Additional exclusions apply. Disputes resolved by arbitration, without class action or jury trial, unless otherwise stated in your full Terms and Conditions.
Making a Service Call: Your plan starts the day your enrollment is processed. There is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a service call, providing 11 months of coverage the first year. Upon renewal/reactivation (if applicable), there is no waiting period.
Cancellation: Cancel any time by calling HomeServe. If you cancel within 30 days of your start date, you will get a full refund (less claims paid, where applicable). Cancellations after the first 30 days will be effective at the end of the then-current billing month, and you will get a pro-rata refund (less claims paid, where applicable).
Renewal: The plan is annual. Unless you cancel, your plan automatically renews annually at the then-current renewal price with your same payment terms.
