Important coverage information
Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the applicable benefit limit, to repair or replace the following system(s) for which you have sole responsibility, that have experienced an operational failure or are hazardous and are damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence. Exterior Electric: Broken or frayed (in the case of wiring) permanent electrical wiring, including the ground wire and service entrance conductor between your utility’s responsibility and the exterior wall of your home; meter base (if provided by your utility, we will install it); exterior breaker panel/fuse box, weatherhead, insulator, conduit and riser; and wiring to detached garages, secondary buildings/pools, and outdoor outlets/lighting/fixtures/fittings connected to your system. Repair of broken or hazardous outdoor outlets and lighting fittings/fixtures on your property that are connected to your system are also covered. The following, up to the benefit limits, are also included: repair/replace broken fittings/fixtures; utility disconnection or reconnection fees; costs associated with local code compliance; perishable items losses; and replacement of shingles, tiles or exterior siding. Telephone/Low-Voltage: Broken or failed low-voltage telephone wiring from the network interface(s), up to and including the jacks; thermostat and doorbell wiring from the switch connection to the opener motor or chime bell connection. Exterior Low-Voltage: The broken or failed low-voltage wiring outside your home but on your property that is used for lighting, electronic gates, and any landscaping wiring that runs up to the point of connection with low-voltage fixtures.
Not covered: Remediating or notifying you of mold or hazardous materials; any sections/parts not installed properly; repair or replacement protected under other coverage; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others, wildlife or unusual circumstances (such as natural disasters). If costs on covered repairs exceed the benefit limit, you pay the difference. Technicians must have safe access to the work area. You will not be reimbursed for repairs performed by anyone not authorized by HomeServe. Exterior Electric: Damage from disconnection or interruption to the main electrical supply; transformers; repair of wiring connected to or any part of the following: smoke detectors, garage doors; generators; non-utility supplied power and/or lines; appliances; meter pedestals; pool heaters. The meter that measures the amount of electricity used is not covered by this plan, but it is maintained by FPL. Telephone/Low Voltage and Exterior Low-Voltage: Specialty or non-standard jacks, lines or systems, security system wiring, or wiring for any temporary or removable structures. Additional exclusions apply.
Making a Service Call: Your coverage starts once your enrollment is received and processed by HomeServe, and you can make a service call as soon as your plan starts.
Cancellation: Cancel your plan any time by calling HomeServe at visiting www.homeserve.com/cancel. You may cancel within 30 days of your start date for a full refund; cancellations after the first 30 days will result in a refund of 90% of the unearned pro rata price (less benefits paid). Upon renewal/restart, you can cancel any time and you will get a pro-rata refund (less benefits paid).
Renewal: The plan is annual. Unless you cancel, your plan automatically renews annually at the then-current renewal price with your same payment terms.
