Walsall-based home assistance provider, HomeServe, has been honoured for its dedication to occupational health and safety, securing a rare “Gold Medal Award” from safety charity the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The RoSPA Gold Medal Award is handed out to businesses that achieve five or more consecutive Gold Awards from the accidents and safety body. HomeServe has now secured a sixth consecutive gold and has been awarded the rare “Gold Medal” honour for the second time.
Paul Nourse, Chief Risk Officer for HomeServe Membership, said; “We’re delighted to retain our place among the best performing UK businesses when it comes to occupational health and safety. The safety and wellbeing of our People based across the UK is incredibly important to us, as it is for our Customers too, and we are committed to maintaining our high standards of safety.
“This Gold Medal Award from RoSPA is an incredible achievement and we’d like to thank all of our People for their ongoing commitment to safety every single day.”
The RoSPA Awards scheme, celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind in the UK. It recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention and is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas. The scheme not only looks at accident records, but also entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “To win an award at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement. It recognises HomeServe’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations.”
