Arrggg, the icky, sticky mess of chewing gum on clothes is one of the most irritating things in life. But luckily, you don't have to bin your favourite top, as this is a crisis that can be solved. Here’s Homeserve's five-minute fix for getting the chewy out.
Step 1:
First, take the garment off. And spare your blushes by putting something else on. Put the spoiled clothes in the freezer and leave for an hour or two.
Step 2:
When the gum has frozen hard, scrape it off with a blunt knife. This should get rid of most, if not all of the gum.
Step 3:
Next, squirt on a little washing up liquid and salt. Rub against the thread of the fabric and the last of the mess should come off.
Step 4:
OK, finally chuck it in the wash and it'll be as good as new.
