5 Minute Fix - Cleaning Silver

Shining, polished silver always looks the business. But even exposure to air, let alone being handled, leads to a soft sheen on the surface. And over time, it can become discoloured and tarnish.

To get your silverware looking, well, silver again, here's Homeserve's five-minute fix.

Step 1:
Grab your tube of toothpaste from the bathroom and squeeze onto the tarnished silver, just enough to give an even coat.

Step 2:
Mix with a little warm water and work the paste into a foam and gently rub with an old toothbrush. After a minute or so's work, rinse off.

Step 3:
Dry and polish with a soft cloth or towel. Perfect, as good as new.
