Our partnership

We pride ourselves on being a caring and responsible company and in November 2009 we formed our first ever  charity partnership with Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Employing more than 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals, Marie Curie provides free care to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own homes. Last year alone, Marie Curie provided care to more than 31,000 patients in the community and in their nine hospices.

Marie Curie Nurses give patients the choice, enabling them to spend their final weeks at home, in familiar surroundings with family and friends close by. Alternatively, patients can stay at one of their warm and friendly hospices.

We've pledged to donate £1 million to Marie Curie; our objective is to have given £500,000 in cash and £500,000 of free home emergency cover by March 2013. To date, we're delighted to announce that we've given £250,000 in cash through employee fundraising, business donations and our sponsorship of Marie Curie's summer walking events, Walk Ten. This will help pay for 12,500 hours of Marie Curie nursing care. We've also provided over £250,000 retail price worth of free home emergency cover to Marie Curie patients through our patient policy and other gift-in-kind activities.
