With your help, HomeServe has donated over £1 million to Marie Curie Cancer Care – thank you for your support!
We pride ourselves on being a caring and responsible company and in November 2009 we formed our first ever national charity partnership with Marie Curie Cancer Care, pledging to donate a massive £1 million between April 2010 – March 2013. We smashed this target in September 2012, six months early - which was an incredible achievement. Due to its success, we're delighted to announce that our partnership will continue for another year, until March 2014.
We have now donated £1,175,000! We have raised £462,000 through employee fundraising, business donations and our sponsorship of Marie Curie's summer walking events, Walk Ten. This will help fund the equivalent of 1,925 full 12 hour Marie Curie nursing night shifts to care for people with terminal illnesses for a whole year. We have also provided over £713,000 retail price worth of free home emergency cover to Marie Curie patients through our patient policy and other gift-in-kind activities.
On behalf of the charity, Fabian French, Marie Curie's Director of Fundraising, and Meg Scoble, a Marie Curie Nurse, recorded the video message below to thank HomeServe employees for their fantastic fundraising efforts.
In July 2012, HomeServe and Marie Curie were short-listed for Best Business / Charity Partnership by the Institute of Fundraising, the leading industry body in the voluntary sector in recognition of the partnership's success.
