Role of the IPHE

The IPHE is one of the UK's leading trade bodies for professional plumbing and heating engineers. They are a registered educational charity with the objective of improving the practice and principles of the plumbing and heating engineering industry.

Accepted Qualifications for Plumbers & Heating Engineers

HomeServe Plumbers and Heating Engineers are thoroughly checked to ensure they provide our customers with the highest standard of expertise and professionalism. IPHE membership is one of the recognised measures of competence. HomeServe also accepts:

  • City & Guilds NVQ qualifications
  • Approval scheme registrations through WIAPS, Thames, Anglian, Severn Trent and Yorkshire Water
  • SNIPEF and APHC membership

All gas heating engineers are required by law to be CORGI registered.

All HomeServe plumbers and heating engineers are thoroughly screened to ensure they meet the highest level of safety and professionalism.

How we make sure our tradesmen are top notch:

  • we visit their premises
  • we get a copy of their up to date Public Liability Certificate, which must have a minimum cover of two million pounds to cover any accidents
  • we validate their relevant Trade Certificates
  • they sign a Service Level Agreement and adhere to Key Performance Indicators, expected work standards and our standard processes and procedures
  • they sign the HomeServe Health & Safety Statement
  • a HomeServe Director gives them final approval
  • we monitor our customer feedback on the jobs they do

All our Tradesmen are Fully Qualified
