Role of the IPHE

The IPHE is one of the UK's leading trade bodies for professional plumbing and heating engineers. They are a registered educational charity with the objective of improving the practice and principles of the plumbing and heating engineering industry.

Accepted Qualifications for Plumber & Heating Engineers

Homeserve emergency plumbers and heating engineers are thoroughly vetted to ensure they provide our customers with the highest standard of expertise and professionalism. IPHE membership is one of the recognised measures of competence. Homeserve also accepts:

  • City & Guilds NVQ qualifications
  • Approval scheme registrations through WIAPS, Thames, Anglian, Severn Trent and Yorkshire Water
  • SNIPEF and APHC membership

Please note: Gas heating engineers are required to be Corgi registered.

Homeserve Plumbers & Heating Engineers

Homeserve requires a copy of the current Public Liability Certificate from our plumbers and heating engineers, which must have a minimum cover of two million pounds in the event of accidents. Homeserve professionals must also agree to our Service Level Agreement, Key Performance Indicators, expected work standards and our standard processes and procedures.
