If you live in Scotland then the Energy Assistance Package could help you make your home more energy efficient.
The Energy Assistance Package is backed and funded by the Scottish Government and administered by the Energy Saving Trust. It was set up to help people in Scotland heat their homes more economically and effectively.
The scheme offers several levels of assistance depending on your circumstances:
-
Free home energy check.
This short survey can gauge how energy efficient your home is and suggest practical changes and improvements to help save on energy bills.
-
Benefit and tax credit check.
This will also give you access to the lowest-cost energy rates.
-
Free insulation.
This will be provided by your energy supplier to make your home more energy efficient.
-
Heat saving measures.
You may also be eligible for a range of measure that make your home warmer and cheaper to heat (like a new boiler, loft or cavity wall insulation).
The maximum grant that you can apply for is £4,000, however in certain circumstances you could be entitled to further work up to a value of £6,500.
Am I eligible?
Different criteria are set for each stage of the package, and some of the help available will depend on how energy efficient your home is.
