Leaking boilers are a fairly common problem, but they should always be fixed quickly and before the problem gets worse.
Not only is a leak an indication of a more serious fault, failure to fix the problem can result in corrosion to the boiler's internal parts as well as minor flooding.
Causes can range from a crack in one of the boiler's cast iron (or aluminium) sections to a broken seal on the boiler's circulation pump.
As a first step, the source of the leak needs to be isolated. However, you should never attempt to do any complex servicing or repair work on the system yourself. So we recommend you call in a qualified boiler and heating engineer to get your boiler back on track.
